These two Standing Stones at Moyny Lower are located about a kilometre north of the R586 and 2.5km east of Drimoleague, West Cork. The two stones are 350m apart. Just one of them was briefly visited and three points surveyed. That was in September 2001.

SW from Moyny Standing Stones, West Cork, Ireland. Seen from CO119-058, CO119-057 to the south-west sits near the top of a drumlin and its tip would be above it, cutting the skyline more or less centrally between Mt Kid and Coomnagoragh Mt, except for the bank and hedge now obscuring that part of the view. Mt Kid summit is 0.7° south of the lunar midpoint while Coomnagoragh Mt top is 0.7° north of the minor standstillLunistice positions vary cyclically over an 18.6 year period but are fairly static for more than a year at either end of the range and accurately a quarter-month south of the winter cross-quarter. The declination of the Standing Stone tip is -23.27° which is about 12 days off the solstice but if we take the lower limb to be intended then it is 15 days from the solstice and 30 days from the winter cross-quarters (Samhain & Imbolc).
